Twenty-two people were injured - two critically- when a bus taking Kentucky students to a Panama City, Fla., church camp Sunday collided with a pickup truck in Dothan.

Police said the bus was taking students from Centenary United Methodist Church in Lexington, Ky. The bus was in a three-bus caravan with 70 with middle school and high school students.

Two children in the pickup were in critical condition and its driver also was hospitalized. Sixteen students, the bus driver, his wife and an adult chaperone were taken to the hospital.

Most of the students were treated and released. At least one student was admitted for observation. The bus driver's wife had serious injuries.

Emily Evans, a counselor in the group, said she was in the bus behind the one involved in the crash on Ross Clark Circle. She saw the bus lurch forward, then slide off the road as the pickup spun back onto the road.
