How many times does a career politician have to lose before they are considered: Politically Dead? How many elections does one have to lose in one year before you realize that Kentucky voters are tired of you?
Anne Northup has been beaten by an ultra-weak candidate in what should have been an easy victory. The Northup of 5 years ago could have beaten the corrupt Kentucky Republican just by announcing her intent to run. So what happened? Personally, I think people didn't tire of her. No. I think more and more people realized what kind of "leader" she really was. I think that people finally saw that she is loyal to an agenda: Not the people.
While listening to Northup's concession speech my wife said something from across the room. I didn't hear her and mentioned that I was "lost within the beautiful sound speech." She replies: "If she keeps on running for shit you're going to hear it again and again." What a nice thought. (glutton)
As mentioned here, here, here and even here..Northup either lost, or was predicted to lose. I guess her home in Florida is seeming very appealing tonight. How could that not be her Plan B? Like an injured animal, she's going to run for her safe-place. And good riddance. The policies she pushed through as either an obstructionist to the Clinton administration, or a rubber-stamp for the Bush administration, will hurt our nation and Commonwealth for a generation. Friend of Abramoff, complicit in the illegal and costly Iraq war, failure as a U.S. Representative...ride off into the sunset. The Florida sunset. And please...don't ever look back again.
