Oh, Kentucky: How screwed up you are.

I guess you could say I have been a bit disgusted by the state of the American electorate in general, and the Kentucky Democratic Party in particular, but does that keep me from paying attention? Noooooooooo....

As a matter of fact this can get pretty entertaining sometimes. Who knows why certain people do certain things? I can explain some of my motivations here, but why bother? Who cares? Why would anyone care about my disillusionment? If I weren't me I doubt that I would care.

So what does that mean?

WTF?Since my post about the KDP & Democratic politics I have been contacted by every campaign in the state. One was asking me to reconsider my "No!" vote. One was asking me to take over and redesign the website for one candidate, the other was asking me to consider an endorsement. Another asked me to "reconsider" my decision to leave the Democratic party...and BTW can I help the campaign?

Who knows what I'll do in the coming months, but I am fairly certain I know how all of this is going to work out now. For the most part, I have been a miserable failure at making predictions. So why not some more?

Perhaps this SuperDelegate thing is worse than anyone originally thought. I understand the situation that created them, and see the reasoning behind it. Does this justify them? Most certainly not! The Popular Vote is the only way to continue running the American Empire. Do you really think "the people" will stand much longer without having their voices heard and votes counted? Are you sure?

The biggest problem Americans have faced since WW2 is themselves. We, as a people, never placed real importance on High School classes such as Civics. This extends into Higher Learning as well. There used to be nothing "sexy" about it. Government? Politics?

No one knows this shit anymore. You'd be amazed at the number of High School grads who don't know who takes over the presidency if both the President and Vice President are killed, or otherwise incapacitated. Most don't understand anything about women's sufferage. Most don't understand much about American Civil Rights in the pre-MLK era.

Most don't understand that the SuperDelegates were created to keep Democratic Party Bosses in power...real power. The power to choose kings. It's as if "history" began in 1970. How quickly we forget. Most don't understand how in the world we ever ended up with an idea like "The Electoral College". Land of the Free, Home of the Brave...right?

We as a people are in the position we're in because we allowed it to happen. Parents never placed the high importance on civics that the topic deserved. Hell, look at American math scores and you'll see where we're placing our attention and care...as a society. And look where it's gotten us.

I have a strong feeling that we're about to make another mistake: John McCain.
While Democrats are more divided than ever, the Republicans are solidifying behind their nominee. Will the Clinton/Obama camps do the same? I am starting to doubt it. Whoever wins this nomination on the Democratic side must seriously commit to closing the gap betwen these sides to better take on a common enemy: Republicans.

Who knows if they can get their shit together long enough to win? And then...what about governing? Can you believe that the General Election is still in November?

We have a long way to go, kiddies. May we all get there in one piece.
