Louisville, Ky. -- Some potentially stunning political news out of Louisville this morning. WHAS11 News has learned that we could see a rematch of the 2006 congressional race between Anne Northup and John Yarmuth.
Northup tells WHAS11 news she’s “seriously considering” another run for Congress, after the man she was supporting put his campaign on hold.
Republican Erwin Roberts has received notice from the army reserves that he’s about to be called to active duty, making it nearly impossible for him to run a campaign for congress.
Northup tells WHAS11 News she loved her five terms in congress. She plans to “say a prayer and sleep on it” before deciding whether she wants to run again. Northup lost to Yarmuth in 2006 then launched a failed bid for governor last year.
